DOI: 10.46726/H.2026.3.21

The article examines the methodological shift in the study of extreme consciousness. It defines the methodological coordinates for analyzing extreme consciousness and proposes a system of approaches and paradigms to ensure a comprehensive analysis. “Extremality” is understood as a transition from a zone of certainty to a zone of volition, driven by the principles of emergence and teleology. The study analyzes system-synergetic and environmental approaches and explores the research potential of the information paradigm and integrated information theory. It demonstrates that an extreme situation radically alters the space-time and depth of consciousness. In conclusion, the author proposes a definition of extreme consciousness based on the approaches, paradigms, and theories discussed.
