Thanks to the serious research work of I.E. Pochivalova and O.I. Koifman, the need for further development of the question posed by us has only intensified.
In the article offered to readers, an attempt is made to deepen the analytical approaches of researchers to the problem of rooting in the circles of Soviet power, representatives of the b. FIR and the public of the textile region of the idea of creating a system of higher education in the city of Ivanovo-Voznesensk. The motives and reasons for the split of the teaching staff on the issue of moving to Ivanovo-Voznesensk are revealed. The transformation of the university into a narrowly specialized higher educational institution and the direct interest of the local authorities in this process is shown at the mental level. The significance of the decisions of the joint meeting on June 1, 1918, which put an end to doubts about the importance of a positive solution to this issue, is revealed.
