The article examines word-formation and lexical means of expressing comparison in Russian and their translations into Persian. The study of the category of comparison is a traditional topic of Russian linguistics, which is acquiring particular relevance in connection with the interest of modern linguistics in comparative studies of languages. The purpose of this work is to identify the exact means of expressing comparison in the Russian language in comparison with the Persian language. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the comprehensive consideration of this topic in the Russian and Persian languages. The use of the comparative method of analysis of language units shows that in both languages this category is reflected at the wordformation and lexical language level. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the listed means of expressing comparative meaning are used in both compared languages, but word-formation means are widely used in the Russian language. The practical significance of the work is that the conclusions of the article can be used by students studying in the departments of Russian as a foreign language in Iranian universities, as additional material in classes, and also by translators.
