The article is devoted to the study of the activities of the Kineshma aniline plant named after A. Frunze, located in the Ivanovo region, for the production of
special products in 1942. It reflects the measures taken by the State Defense Committee and the leadership of the region to organize its activities in the most difficult military conditions. Much attention is paid to solving problems of providing the plant with raw materials, fuel, labor, as well as supplying food. The specifics of the plant’s activities to mobilize internal resources, strengthen labor discipline and participate in the all-Union socialist competition are shown. It also reflected the actions of the NKVD authorities on operational support of the production process at plant No. 756, a list of special products manufactured at the plant, including types of explosives and toxic substances, was indicated. The article was prepared based on materials from the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History, the State Archive of the Ivanovo Region and the local periodicals. The results of this study may be of interest to specialists in the history of the Great Patriotic War, students of higher educational institutions, as well as the general public.
