Kondorskii B. M. Russia as a state-oikumena

The article attempts to comprehend and lead to a certain system of Russia’s history based on the concept of oikumena as a system that has its own internal laws, as the unity of natural and social phenomena and processes. The specificity of the series of oikumena — tribal, trading, urban — which replaced each other within Russia is stated. It is shown that the deep crisis of the ancient Russian fastening system at the turn of the XII—XII centuries and the subsequent feudal revolution predetermined the transition to feudal oikumena within the framework of the Moscow state. It is recorded that oikoumene foundation contributed to the restoration of the Russian state after the Time of trouble, and the attempt to carry out the industrialization after two and a half centuries of the landlord-serf oikumena ended in failure. It is established that this task has been solved by the Bolsheviks. It is concluded that the transition to the post-industrial society in Russia is possible in close cooperation not with the West, but with China and other intensively developing countries.
