The article describes the means of expressing censure used to depict the deeds of the acting governor of the Samara region V.A. Fedorishchev in the materials of the Samara electronic media. The article is based on the analysis of linguistic units used by Samara electronic news portals journalists. That language input — lexical, descriptive and phraseological – was illustrative of the acting governor’s criticism directed towards regional executive authorities. The author makes use of the method of descriptive analysis as well as the continuoussampling method. The semantic and pragmatic analysis of the identified linguistic units (oneword, descriptive and phraseological phrases) used by the authors of electronic publications are carried out. The article analyses the image of the acting governor created by local media. The researcher gives an assessment of the illocutionary purposes of using the vocabulary and phraseology of censure in each of the presented electronic publications. It is determined that the journalists of the Samara media create a positive image of a regional politician, distinguished by determination and uncompromising attitude in matters related to ineffective work of regional executive authorities. It is established that regional media form the opinion of residents of the Samara region regarding the work of city and regional authorities. The author provides a stylistic assessment of specific lexemes and phraseological units that differ in terms of semantics and connotation.
