Seleznev F. A. Kuzma Minin and the early history of the Pokhvalinsky Church in Nizhny Novgorod

The article substantiates the authenticity of the legend about the burial of Kuzma Minin at the Pokhvalinsky Church in Nizhny Novgorod. The author’s view of the history of this temple in the XVII century is presented. The author hypothe-sizes that the Pokhvalinsky church was built at the expense of Minin. The restoration of the Pokhvalinskaya Church in the middle of the XVII century the author connects with the activities of the construction contractor Semyon Zadorin. The author explains why there is no mention of the Pokhvalinsky church in the sources of the first half of the XVII century.
