Yudin K. A. “The way of cinnabar” by Julius Evola: experience of intellectual autobiography and philosophical self-knowledge

This article can be seen as a continuation of a series of publications by the author, which began several years ago, devoted to the study of the works of the famous Italian right-wing conservative philosopher-traditionalist, Baron Julius Evola. An attempt is being made to focus on his particular work, which is an intellectual autobiography of the — “The way of cinnabar”. The periodization of the existential-ontological route made by the Italian thinker is carried out with the separation of three components: the artistic, philosophical and post-philosophical stages. The first stage is associated with artistic, literary, poetic experiments, the primary attribution of ideological orientations, formed under the influence of avant-garde art and the community.
The second period is characterized by a significant expansion of social ties and intellectual horizons of Evola, who went through the phase of intensive contacts with classical Western European philosophy, eastern metaphysics, esoteric, theosophical teachings in general and the legacy of their individual representatives. There is an expli-cation of “magical idealism” as a paradigmatic springboard for further individual transcending. Main activities of Evola take place in the post-philosophical period; these activities are aimed at accumulating ideas about the integral tradition, its right-wing conservative substantiality.
