Uzhova O. A. English dictionaries of VIII—XVI cc. as cultural information providers

The article is devoted to the analysis of the early flowering of the English lexicography. It deals with the study of the dictionaries that emerged in the period
between VIII and XVI cc. It is emphasized that cultural information can be traced even in the early lexicographic products, thus proving the fact that any dictionary can be considered a dictionary of culture.
