Ukhova A.S. Gender stereotypes about women in German humorous media discourse

This article is devoted to the identification, study and systematization of gender stereotypes about women in modern German jokes on the Internet, as well as trends in their further development. More than 550 jokes were collected using the continuous sampling method, in which a woman appears as one of the acting characters (or she is being discussed) and in which a number of gender stereotypes in various thematic areas are re-vealed. It has been established that these jokes function depending on the form of presentation in the network in two formats: traditional and innovative. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, the most typical stereotypical ideas about women in German society have been established. Having compared the theoretical and practical material data, the author reaches the following conclusion: in the German media space mainly negative female stereotypical features are broadcast. At the same time, it can be seen that some stereotypes are becoming obsolete, and they are being replaced by new, more modern ones. Three main trends in the development of gender stereotypes have been identified: fresh aspects are added to traditional areas; entirely new themes emerge, as well as a “feminine view” of the modern world appears depicting an unattractive image of a man.
