Tryakhov I.S. Activity of the ORS of the Vladimir Avtopribor plant during the Great Patriotic War (1941—1945)

It is difficult to overestimate the importance of the rear during the Great Patriotic War. At present, not only the problem of the production activities of Soviet enterprises during the years of wartime continues to be relevant, but also food and essential goods supply to employees of specific factories. This article is devoted to the analysis of the activities of the department of labor supply (ORS) of Vladimir Avtopribor plant, which, despite its relatively small size, had significant production achievements during the war years. This was noted even at the all-Union level, when the plant received the Order of the Red Banner of Labor for its production achievements. Various documentary sources deposited in the State Archives of the Ivanovo and Vladimir regions were used to study the problem. In methodological terms, the study lies within microhistory as a research subfield. The article managed to identify the main activities of the factory ORS, as well as the importance of the subsidiary farm of the enterprise for the supply of workers and employees of the enterprise with food. Difficulties in the activities of the ORS were identified, negative aspects in the supply of vital goods to employees were investigated. Thus, some employees negatively assessed the differentiation in the field of canteen service. ORS experienced major difficulties with the delivery and storage of necessary food products and fuel, there was a shortage of personnel in the subsidiary farm of the enterprise. A comprehensive analysis of the sources used shows that by the end of the war, difficulties in supplying workers through the factory ORS system remained, but at the same time, solving the food problem through the subsidiary farm of the plant was an adequate solution in conditions of wartime shortages.
