The article analyzes the influence F. Roosevelt and W. Churchill on solving the problem of the Second front as a key issue of the coalition strategy of warfare in November 1942 — December 1943. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the role of Western leaders in the evolution of relations with the USSR. On the basis of the analyzed material, it is noted that the decisions of F. Roosevelt and W. Churchill were of importance, often decisive importance in the evolution of coalition strategy, including relations with the Soviet ally. The military-strategic ideas and decisions of the British leader often lagged be-hind the dynamics of the world struggle, determined by the imperial interests of London and the limited military potential of the British Empire. At the same time, the president’s military-strategic thinking was, as a rule, adequate to the general logic of the world struggle and the real role of each of the main theaters of military operations in the general course of the war in the context of American geostrategic interests. The position of F. Roosevelt had a decisive influence on the evolution and final solution of the problem of the Second front.
