The relevance of this study is determined by the need to study the specifics of Internet communication and, in particular, the role played by comic texts as spokesmen for public opinion in modern Internet communication and the life of modern societies. The main research method is discursive analysis, which involves the interpretation of comic texts as a product of people’s speech activity within the Internet discourse, including the study of the semantic elements of the utterance and the interaction between them. As a result of the study, it was found that the comic texts of Internet discourse are based on precedence, the sources of which are common to both Russian and English Internet discourse: works of mass culture, modern and historical personalities, events and situations. A large number of comic texts are presented in the form of creolized texts in which the language game is inextricably linked with the graphic component, or image.
