The article is devoted to the study of everyday activities of part of the city banks of Vladimir and Kostroma provinces. Archival materials on this topic, stored
in the State archive of Ivanovo region, are analyzed. Attention is paid to the main areas of their activities, including lending of local authorities and the public, and also to the management of banks. The role of Accounting committees in the daily activities of urban public banks and their authority is investigated.
