Komissarov V.V. The city of Ivanovo in Nikolai Lobko’s artistic works: features of the era and characteristics of everyday life

The article examines the creative work of an Ivanovo writer of the 1940s and 1970s Nikolai Prokofievich Lobko. First of all, the historical authenticity of his artistic
works is analyzed. The main purpose of the article is to study the novels of N.P. Lobko as historical sources. A wide range of published materials and archived documents were involved. Various works of the author were analyzed. The main attention is paid to the adventure story “The Second Meeting”, published in 1957. The socio-political conditions of its writing were studied. The influence of the atmosphere of the Khrushchev thaw on publishing practice in the USSR is shown. Various cliches typical of Soviet detective stories and present in N.P. Lobko's story are revealed. The review of the publishing house on this work is analyzed. In terms of content, the story lacks documentary and topographic accuracy. Nevertheless, it contains certain information about Ivanovo's life in the mid-1950`s, a description of the daily life of the city, those aspects of it that are minimally reflected in traditional sources. The book also contains some other everyday city life details that might present a certain interest: descriptions of clothing items or home furnishings.
