The readers are presented with a review of a scientific monograph, which is the work of authors’ collective working in related humanitarian fields, which makes it possible to analyze the problems they present from both theoretical and scientific-practical points of view. The authors focus on the depiction of an image of the enemy in the USSR and the USA cinema during the Cold War in 1946—1963. The authors come to the conclusion that the created film image of the enemy, reflecting ideological confrontation between two systems, is an important means of legitimizing power and forming civil consciousness of society, and its analysis is essential for international stability and security.
