The article is devoted to the study of semantics and grammar specifics of short forms of attributive words in Marina Tsvetaeva’s texts. The work establishes that the concept of quality, attribute, is one of the specific features for the poet’s texts, which is expressed in its varied verbalization both in poetic texts as well as in drama and prose. As part of the study, it is suggested that the use of a short form of epithets, often occasional, indicates the poet’s desire for a language experiment, close attention to the semantics and grammar of characteristic words. The article presents a semantic analysis of attribute words in a short form, representing the category of quality, and structuring it along the lines of permanence/temporariness of the attribute, the degree of manifestation of the attribute, and its expressiveness. It is noted that in the prose of M. Tsvetaeva, linguistic reflection on the semantic of epithet words is represented to
a greater extent, which is very characteristic and typical of her texts: the concept of an epithet and the adjective as its verbalizer are not a trope, but a means of reflecting the principle of cognitive, epithet poetic thought. It is concluded that the study of characteristic vocabulary makes it possible to understand the architectonics of M. Tsvetaeva’s idiostyle.
