One might have assumed that by the start of the XXI century the problem of sexism has been successfully solved due to very energetic and fruitful efforts under-taken by the so-called gender-sensitive layers of the society. Indeed, their efforts have led to quite tangible results. However, in reality it turns out that sexism is still there; it has changed its form/s, and we have just stopped talking about it. The article is devoted to the question of objectifying women as a manifestation of sexism. That trend of talking about women as recipients of actions, denying or — at least — diminishing their ability to be active subjects / agents of actions results in consider-ing women as less competent and even — to a certain extent — less human. The article deals with linguistic mechanisms of expressing this manifestation of sexism: passive voice, transitive and modal verbs and so-called ―empty‖ adjectives.
