Bakina N.M. The verbal component of Joe Biden's communicative behavior

The article is devoted to the verbal behavior of the 46th President of the United States, Joe Biden. The political leader as well as his spouse in their speeches help and convince the people. Manipulation among politicians is an important part of managing the spiritual state of the recipient, which is expressed in their verbal and non-verbal behavior. Research methods: contextual analysis, the method of dictionary definitions and the method of communicative-pragmatic analysis. The material was video recordings of public speeches of Joe Biden. The specifics of his verbal behavior are established,
the means of manipulation in his speeches are determined. The article considers institutional discourse because public speeches or interviews with the president are displayed in the video recordings. As a result of the study, it was found that verbal communication of an American politician contributes to achieving a pre-planned result, as well as effectively convincing the audience of the correctness of the choice made. The linguistic means of achieving manipulation are revealed: lexical, grammatical and stylistic.
