This article discusses the functioning of the system of contacts between the Russia and Persian Gulf monarchies within the framework of international economic and socio-political processes. The study separately considers the issue of the reasons for intensifying contacts within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as between the Russian Federation and Qatar. The problem of expanding
political and economic contacts with these countries is described in detail in the main part of the study, while it is noted that the prospects for the development of such cooperation, despite the discrepancies in the positions of States on some non-regional issues, are more than substantial. Joint projects for the development of the oil industry, mediation of conflicts within the Middle East region are drivers of expanding trade contacts, which contributes to the systematic development of the Russian presence and influence by strengthening and streamlining these ties. The authors provide specific trends in the implementation of the Russian Federation foreign policy in relation to the states under consideration, which can be considered as a basis for changing the existing system of relations. A conclusion is made about the need and prospects for developing contacts between Russia and the countries of the region.
