This article examines the dynamics of students' worldview structures. That dynamics is proposed to consider when planning a system of psychological support for the process of entering the educational environment of a military university. The basis for this theoretical and empirical study is the contradiction between young people's expectations and the actual organizational culture of a specific military higher education institution. The purpose of the article is to elucidate the interrelated changes occurring during the adaptation period to university-type education. It is noted that a significant proportion of first-year students retain low self-esteem and experience doubts about the validity of their initial professional identity. This requires an analysis of changes occurring not only in the semantic
(knowledge) layer of an individual's worldview but also in the peripheral layer, where initial ideas can be negated or distorted under the influence of subjective experiences associated with intragroup stratification processes. Particular importance is attached to identifying the content and hierarchy of value orientations included in the core layer of the image of the world, reflecting the dynamics of operational and personal meanings associated with the primary professional self-determination of cadets.
