Kabakov S.T. The principle of complexity in social philosophy of Edgar Morin

The article offers an essential reconstruction of the concept of «complex (personal), complex thinking» by the French social philosopher Edgar Morin. The phenomenon of pathology of thinking is considered, its connection with “epistemological rationality” is fixed. The basic characteristic of complex thinking is revealed — synthetics, which involves combining natural science, sociology, psychology, and philosophy according to a problematic principle. The author's interpretation of the seven principles of complex thinking by E. Morin is proposed. It is shown that for the philosopher, in the context of the study of
society, it is the cultural subsystem (and not the social subsystem) that is “primary”: society, first of all, is characterized by a system of values. The conclusion is made about the holistic (and dialectical) pathos of the complex thinking concept by E. Morin, combining the positions of holography, cyberneticism, dialogism, environmentalism, and constructivism.
