The aim of the article is to identify the key features of the House chronotope in the novel «Black Raven» by the modern St. Petersburg novelist Dm. Veresov. The following research methods were used: comparative-historical, typological, method of holistic analysis of the artwork. As a result, it was established that the chronotope of the House plays a special functional role in The Black Raven: the space of the House, firstly, appears here as a place of development of crucial events, in comparison with other novels of the saga, the action of which will not be localized and limited exclusively to Leningrad and several apartments. Secondly, it marks the essence of the characters; finally, it is a mirror reflection of Soviet history and culture — it is through the different spaces of the House / Antihouse that the everyday life and life structure of the representatives of different strata of Soviet society are revealed. Artistic space and time play a plot-forming role in the text. It is in the first novel of the family saga about the fate of two sisters that the House as a spatial component is not only the background for the unfolding of mystical and detective collisions, but also the semantic center, the catalyst of the unfolding plot. In “The Black Raven” there is a combination of distant and near (the time of personal destinies is inscribed in the historical) in temporal terms, in spatial terms — small (house) and large (Leningrad, Russia) chronotopes.
