Grigoryan A.A. Adjectives and nouns: points of intersection

The problem of classifying words of any language into parts of speech as well as the question of defining non-contradictory criteria for such a classification has always been one of the so-called “eternal” problems of linguistics. Adjectives and nouns as cardinal parts of speech have never been excluded from this process. However logical and universally acceptable the criteria used be scholars might seem, there still are a number of ‘gray’ – to put it mildly – areas which require clarification. The article is an attempt to suggest some ideas on the way of solving the existing problems.
