On the material of the journalism of F.M. Dostoevsky, the epistolary of the writer, the memoir of the artist’s close relatives, as well as the previously unpublished correspondence of L.F. Dostoevsky 1915. The fundamental beliefs of F.M. Dostoevsky about the family issue are analyzed in the context of the writer’s artistic axiology, which show that the writer’s value system is based mainly on such spiritual constants as the steadfastness of the Christian foundations of human society, the strength of the relationship between parents and children, between husband and wife. The positive family reputation of F.M. Dostoevsky in assessing loved ones is determined by good education, deep religious culture that reigned in Dostoevsky’s family norms, and most importantly — the fact of birth in a strong, loving and pious family, which the writer has revered all his life as an example of a small church.
